RIDA Resort & Convention Center

In mid 2015, Allegis was retained by RIDA Development Corporation to provide development management services for the development of a new Resort & Convention Center on a property known as the Chula Vista Bayfront Master Plan area, which comprises approximately 562 acres located in Chula Vista, California.

Nestled against the San Diego Bay and the Chula Vista Harbor, the Chula Vista Resort and Convention Center will serve as the cornerstone of hospitality in the district, offering an upgraded level of guest-room, dining, meeting and entertainment opportunities for its guests, including both local residents and visitors to enjoy. Upon arriving at the lobby beneath the grand porte-cochere, guests can navigate to a rejuvenating trip to the 12,000 SF spa and fitness facility or enjoy a myriad of dining options including the three meal restaurant, specialty restaurant, pool bar and grill, sports bar or the lobby bar – all offering a distinctive dining and entertainment experience while enjoying views out to the San Diego Bay.

With panoramic views to the bay, marina, and downtown San Diego, the 1,600 guest-rooms will offer sophisticated modern accommodations that will bring guests a peaceful night’s rest, entertainment options or an effective workspace. Many guest-rooms will feature private balconies for guests to enjoy the southern California vistas in the world’s most inviting climate.

With nearly 200,000 SF of meeting and conference space, the Project will offer guests a variety of options for their next meeting or event. Key features include a grand 50,000 SF ballroom, two 28,000 SF ballrooms, a 14,000 SF social ballroom and an additional 12,000 SF social ballroom. This, combined with over 60,000 SF of breakout meeting space, allows for optimal flexibility within the conference facility for a variety of simultaneous events or one large meeting and convention. All ballrooms will feature compelling views out across the bay and offer spacious terraces and/or event lawns to allow for events to spill out into the outdoors connecting to the waterfront.

The site will be an oasis of shade, sound and experiential delight. The event gardens, lawns and terraces throughout the development will be linked by landscaped pathways allowing guests to explore and discover the many walkable destinations connecting this approximately 36.5 acre site. Of the 1,200 surface parking spaces, 400 are covered and allow direct access into the meeting and banquet spaces. The additional 800 spaces are designed to work with the dense landscaping and offer access into the main hotel lobby. Fountains, play areas, sculpture, wildlife and respite will be plentiful across the site and all are enveloped by the rich botanical palette of true California landscape.

The water features will offer guests a variety of activities for all ages to enjoy. With amenities such as a wave pool, lazy river, kid’s zone and an adult swimming pool, all surrounded by cabanas and lounge chairs and nestled into lush landscaping, the pool amenity zone will be the pinnacle of entertainment at the hotel and will offer guests the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful California sunshine.
