New Marriott Marquis Hall

The proposed San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina Facilities Improvement Project is located within the jurisdiction of the San Diego Unified Port District in the Marina Zone of the Centre City/Embarcadero area of San Diego. The Marriott is proposing a major renovation of its meeting facilities to meet current demands for space, flexibility, technology, food services, and design, and to be competitive with the newer convention center headquarters hotel nearby. The project also proposes public access corridor improvements between the Marriott and the adjacent hotel, to improve public access to the South Embarcadero waterfront from Harbor Drive and the adjacent downtown residential community. Included in the proposed improvements are construction of a new and expanded 107,000 square foot Marriott Hall with ballroom and exhibit hall space, an outdoor event area, replacement of the public marina restroom building, and landscaping.
